Ayuod / Uyut

Ayuod (Pronounced as A-yuod) or most popularly known as uyut in modern day bidayuh - is a baby hammock or craddle made of cloth with spring. The old dialect used the word Ayuod and the action of moving up and down is bidayuod. The term uyut is probably borrowed from the Malay language as the people used to buy it from the city. As time goes by the have slowly adapting to the word Uyut and almost replaced the word "Ayuod" entirely. The modern Bidayuh kids probably not familiar with it anymore.
