Iban = Son in law or daughter in law. Some people may have mistaken the word because it is spelled and pronouns exactly like the ethic race "Iban". In the olden days the Bidayoh (bidoyoh) known the Iban as Sikolang because the Iban we knows are mainly coming from Sekrang and our people have great respect for them because of their aggressive and savagery especially in head hunting.
There was an old story of confusion between an Iban son in law who married to the Bidayuh got irritated by his parents in laws for calling him Iban and he ended up responded calling them Bidayuh. Actually his parent in laws meant to call him "son in law".
